The New York Times reported that our scientific friends are prepared to “regenerate” (clone) a Woolly Mammoth if given $ 10 million dollars. Is there a reason that someone thinks this is a good idea…other than they are capable of doing it?
Scientists need to get beyond the urge to do things, simply because they can be done…and develop some wisdom…and insight…as to whether they should be done.
The good Doctors report that they are also on the verge of decoding the genome for the Neanderthal “man” (person) and cloning Neanderthal persons should be possible soon. One scientist believes that museums could “prove gold mines of ancient DNA”.
Is there anyone else who feels that we might have enough Neanderthals already?
