OFFICE OF TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION

Memo to Supervisors:

From: Kip Hawley, Administrator

Re: Program for Examination of Shoes

I am pleased to report that we are seeing the Light at the End of the Tunnel in regard to our public relations offensive to educate as to the need for shoe screening.  Polls indicate that the incident at a news conference in Iraq involving the President has enhanced public understanding of the issues.

Kindly post and circulate the following letter in prominent public places at all airport screening entrances.

OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Dear Footsie,

As you know, for years the folks have been calling and writing about why you make them remove their shoes.

Well wouldn’t you know it but over in Iraq, some dang journalist threw his shoes at me.

I hope you’ all and the folks now understand what I have been trying to explain.

Very truly yours,

George W. Bush
